New Metta Catharina Culatta is now available on the site!
Cut from the hind, the culatta is a dense and oily section of horsehide. This leather is an homage to the original Metta Catharina (Russian reindeer). The dense yet gummy fibers of this cut allows for an exceptionally deep imprint of the famous Russian hatch.
At first glance it looks quite similar to the Russian calf however they have very different temper and feel. The Metta Catharina being horsehide feels very dense yet gummy. The high oil content gives its surface a lustrous shine in certain lighting. This leather also has a slight pull (colour bloom) showing some play in colour variations with wear.
I have to apologise for the recent delays on orders. Occasionally there are times where influx of orders comes through and it becomes difficult to get a gauge on lead times. This causes delays not just on orders but future updates and general admin tasks.
Its been a wonderful learning experience to have logs of orders but I don't intend to expand. Coming into the future, I'll put more effort into providing a more accurate lead times. There's bound to be delays at some point but I can say that the goods are never rushed out. If anything I hope to take on a slower pace so that I can continue to refine craftsmanship in the work.
Thank you for all your support.
