Ostrich Hide
A very peculiar leather, ostrich crowns requires extra steps of preparation in order to get a professional finish. These hides have a distinctive quilled pattern which are flattened out during prep. The flesh has irregular, sometimes loose fibers which also needs to be trimmed prior to use. Due to the softness of its structure, the ostrich has to be reinforced or lined making them suitable only for certain applications.
