METTA cATHARINA cULATTA
Cut from the hind, the culatta is a dense and oily section of horsehide. This leather is an homage to the original Metta Catharina (Russian reindeer). The dense yet gummy fibers of this cut allows for an exceptionally deep imprint of the famous Russian hatch.
At first glance it looks quite similar to the Russian calf however they have very different temper and feel. The Metta Catharina being horsehide feels very dense yet gummy. The high oil content gives its surface a lustrous shine in certain lighting. This leather also has a slight pull (colour bloom) showing some play in colour variations with wear.
