Habana (ITALIAN COWHIDE)

The Habana is a two toned hand padded finish by Badalassi Carlo. Like many of their articles it starts as the Minerva and further tumbled, oiled and hand padded with a special black speck finish. A close cousin to the Nemesi but unlike the latter, Habana is hand padded while Nemesi is drum stained and stone glazed.

Due to the hand finishing process there is noticeable variation around the hide, some areas showing heavier stains than others.

Tannery: Badalassi Carlo (Italy).
Temper: Soft.
Surface: Milled, natural grain varying on pattern and intensity. Matte finish with a slight waxy touch.
Tanning: Vegetable tan.
Patina: To be tested.
Other notes: Black speckled finish on the surface. This leather has a soft touch similar to French calfskin.

All of our products are hand made with traditional leather crafting techinques. They are cut, saddle stitched and burnished by hand. Our stock of leathers are sourced from the finest tanneries around the world. We use full grain leathers which shows its natural qualities and will have subtle differences between every hide. The combination of these processes results in a unique feeling between every product.
